5th Workshop – CulTures of Novi Sad – 3 faces of one city

The 5th workshop will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the LAB Cultural Center

The various social, political and cultural circumstances in which Novi Sad developed from the beginning of the 18th century to the beginning of the 1990s determined the character of its cultural heritage.
We have been researching politics, religion, culture, art, economy, crafts, catering, education, traffic, housing, entertainment, sports, fashion, and design – to recognize, better understand, value, (re)interpret and promote the cultural heritage of the New Now from the period of the Habsburg rule, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and the SFRY, in the local and European context.

We have discovered many unknown details from the history of our city!

Proceedings European Railway Heritage has been published.

The topic of this year’s series of lectures and workshops is the European Railway Heritage – euRAILher. The relevance of the chosen topic reflects primarily in its European character, which is based on the actuality of the theme at the European level and joining the initiative of the European Parliament to declare 2021 the European Year of Rail.

The European Year of Rail aims to promote the historical, social, cultural and economic significance of the railway, which has always been a generator of development and a factor of European integration. The euRAILher module contributes to raising the level of awareness of the local community about the values ​​and potentials of the railway heritage, increasing interest in the mutual / European railway heritage, improving access to the railway heritage and developing its cultural and tourist potential.

This book presents the outcomes of research conducted to examine various aspects of the European railway heritage, starting with theoretical, historical, sociological, architectural, tourist and others. The collection is expected to popularize railway heritage and strengthen the sense of belonging to the Central European context.
